COVID - 19 Updates: Part 2

Hi OwnPace Family,

Hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe. I just wanted to express gratitude during this time for trusting me to keep you safe and continuing to train with me. We as the OwnPace Community have done a great job in adhering to the CDC recommendations for social distancing and basic hygiene. Thanks to everyone who helps wipe down the mats and equipment after use and special thanks to Lilie for providing additional antibacterial soap and water.

While doing some research on the global impact of COVID-19 , i found some positive unintended consequences of the stay home requirement imposed by different governments. It appears the universe needed a break and some time to reset because while we stay home for the most part and take a break from our daily routines. The earth is restoring itself to healthier times, there have been multiples reports globally of clearer skies in high population and industrial areas, clearer water in high vacations places, dolphins and fishes returning to the water in Venice, turtles being born without plastic in their body, everyone paying attention to their actual health and not just physical appearance and the list goes on.

On that note, we will also be taking a break from training currently from the 04/06/2020 - 04/12/2020 (possibly the 19th). I’m seriously considering making it a full 14 days but I’ll let you guys decide and give your feedback. During this time you will not be left empty handed.

  1. I have added a “move of the day” section to the website that will have daily movement for us to do. it will also be on our Instagram page @ownpace.athletics and a youtube playlist.

  2. I’ve written a “how to eat during the quarantine and after” guide.

  3. One of our very own Nateka Shelton who is a pharmacist has provided us with immune boosting tips and other health tips

  4. I’ll be sharing daily routines that I’ve been doing prior to the pandemic that has given me peace of mind in trusting my health.

During this break, I’ll be spending time on some of my other passions such as my photography & videography, doing some house remodeling projects, catching up on some reading and I have a new member of the family “Bandit” :). Hope you enjoy your time off as well.

Thanks again to everyone for your continued support and see you soon.
