Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to help you take your fitness journey to new heights this year. At OwnPace Athletics, we’re committed to pushing boundaries, setting new goals, and building a stronger, healthier community.
We’ve got an action-packed start to the year, and this newsletter will give you everything you need to make the most of it.
Part 1: Your First Session of 2025 – Let’s Set the Baseline
To kick off the new year right, your first session will be an assessment session designed to give you a clear starting point and track progress over time. Here’s what to expect:
1. Weigh-In with the Hume Scale
We’ll be using the Hume scale to provide accurate measurements of your weight and body composition. Before your session, make sure to:
Download the Hume Scale app so we can sync your data seamlessly.
2. Circumference Measuring
We’ll measure key areas (waist, hips, chest, arms, and thighs) to track body composition changes as we progress.
3. Optional Progress Pictures
Progress pictures are a great visual way to document your transformation. If you choose to take pictures, here are a few outfit recommendations:
For Men: Fitted shorts and a tank top or t-shirt.
For Women: Fitted leggings/shorts and a sports bra or fitted tank top.
These outfits will help show muscle definition and changes over time. Make sure to wear something you’re comfortable repeating for future pictures!
4. New Performance Testing
We’re introducing new performance tests this year to track improvements in strength, endurance, and general fitness:
Endurance Test: 2000m row for time.
Strength Test: 1-rep max (1RM) on the trap bar deadlift.
General Fitness Test: As many Beast Push-Ups as possible in 60 seconds.
Come ready to give it your all and set a strong baseline for 2025!
Part 2: The Importance of Clearly Defined Goals
Achieving your fitness goals starts with clearly defining them. Without a target, it’s hard to measure success. Whether you’re aiming to lose fat, gain muscle, run a race, or improve overall fitness, setting specific, measurable, and achievable goals will guide your journey.

Part 3: Don’t Miss the OwnPace January Challenge
We’re kicking off the year with the OwnPace January Challenge! This challenge is all about completing as many Beast Push-Ups as possible in 60 seconds and tracking your progress daily in the Whole Human App.

Remember, consistency is key—stick with it, and you’ll see major progress by the end of the month!
